Great Smoky Mountains National Park Visitor Use and Strategic Operations Planning

Great Smoky Mountains National Park estimates that there has been a 25% increase in visitation over the previous ten years. This has challenged the park to meet the needs of visitors while simultaneously managing congestion, crowding, and providing the quality GRSM experiences that visitors expect. The project, done in collaboration with New Line Consultants is to assess actions to address congestion, develop public engagement strategies and to guide public meetings. Another aspect of the project is to develop a Strategic Operations Plan for the park. This activity is led by New Line Consultants with Global Park Solutions playing a support role.
